About Lena Mueller

I live in Hamburg and I split my time between a drawing table and a camera. Cartoon panels are how I write. I think in beats: a look, a pause, a small disaster. Photography is how I get out of the room. The Elbe in soft light, a sports field, a person who agreed to stand still for one minute. I am not precious about either practice. A drawing that does not read gets redrawn. A photograph that only proves I was there gets deleted. What I keep is the frame that still feels like a sentence. If you follow the work, you will see the same timing in both.
