About Diego Ramirez

I work in Guadalajara between a metal shop and a painting wall, and I travel when I want photographs that a studio cannot give me. Realist painting is how I record kitchens, rooms, and the objects people actually live with. Metal is how I make something that has to survive being picked up. Underwater pictures are the opposite of both: no bench, no second pass, just the light that was there. I am practical about the schedule. Mornings are for the loud work. Afternoons are for paint, when I can hear the picture. If something looks effortless, it took longer than it looks.
