About Piotr Kowalski

Krakow is a walking city, and most of my pictures start while I am walking. I notice a window, a bend in the river, a face that has already looked away. Later I sort those notes into paint, line, bronze, or a photograph if the light was the real subject. I do not treat those as separate careers. They are different ways of keeping the same afternoon. I work slowly and I title things late. If you buy something, I want you to know it was made here, in a room that smells like solvent and wet plaster, by someone who will still be at the bench tomorrow.
