About Kadri Tamm

I am in Tallinn, and the light here is a practical fact, not a mood I invent. In winter the day is short, so I draw early and I photograph when the harbor goes pale. Line is how I think. A gesture sheet is how I warm up. A photograph is how I admit that some things should not be redrawn. I have moved studios more than once, and I learned to keep the work portable: paper, a few lenses, a bag that closes. The pictures are about weather, water, and the way a body turns. They are also about staying with a subject long enough to stop performing.
