If the Listing Says Vintage, Ask Which Decade

Decoding gallery English is a collector skill. Vintage is not a date. Rare often means I have one. Mint on a used-art site is an act of hope. Ask for the year, the medium, and a photo of the wear that scared the seller.
Artists: if it is from 1994, say 1994. Specificity is a filter that saves everyone a drive.

If the follow-up photo is a blurry corner and a speech, I am buying a speech.

Asked which decade. Seller said 1996. Bought the print. Everybody won except the word vintage.
